The answer to this is subject. We've worked with large figure-eight tracks used for ice skating in the winter months and small office spaces. It really depends on your event and what you have to work with.
As a general rule of thumb, we suggest a space no smaller than a basketball or tennis court.
We cater to both indoor and outdoor events. The sweet spot is outdoor locations during the summer months and indoor locations during the colder winter months. Making SKATEVAN an all-season business.
The smoother the surface, the better the experience. We've turned office spaces and parking lots into pop-up roller rinks. A smooth surface (either indoor or outdoor) is the number one, main requirement.
It can be a wood surface, asphalt or polished concrete, as long as it's smooth. We can help with determining if your proposed location is suitable.
I'm glad you asked. We offer a number of optional add-ons to customize your package and make it the best event possible:
A typical day usually consists of 5-hours of skating. We break this up into 5 x 45min sessions.
Each session has a capacity between 20-40 skaters, depending on sizing and availability.
To maintain a safe skating environment for new skaters, we try to keep the capacity at around 30 skaters per session. This ensures adequate sizing and protective gear is available for all.
Once you have a super smooth and safe location, away from vehicles - you are off to the races.
From our experience roller skating can be the centre-point for your event but there is always an opportunity to build other activations around skating, such as food/drink vendors, music, dancing and so on. The goal should be create a mini festival for your guests
Yes, advance booking is required. We only take one event booking per day. To avoid disappointment we always suggest submitting an event enquiry at your earliest convenience.
