GENERAL QUESTIONS

  • SKATEVAN is the OFFLINE RECREATION DEPARTMENT.

We exist to get friends and families off their screens and back into the real world - moving, laughing and reconnecting, all while staying active.

At the intersection of skate culture, recreation and personal growth, SKATEVAN brings skating directly to communities through mobile experiences. No gatekeeping, no pressure - just an open invitation to try something different.

Skating has a way of building confidence, speaking creativity and bringing people together. SKATEVAN is here to make that accessible anywhere.

  • Our packages include the following:

    • Transportation and set-up
    • Two SKATEVAN staff members
    • Premium roller skates
    • Projective gear (helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards)
    • Full Insurance and liability coverage
    • Digital waivers for in-person signing
  • As a general rule of thumb, we suggest a space no smaller than a basketball or tennis court.

That being said, we've worked with large figure-eight tracks used for ice skating in the winter months and small office spaces. It really depends on your event and what you have to work with.

Your main priority is a flat, smooth surface away from moving vehicles.

  • We cater to both indoor and outdoor events.

The sweet spot is outdoor locations during the summer months and indoor locations during the colder winter months. Making SKATEVAN an all-season business.

  • The smoother the surface, the better the experience. We've turned office spaces and parking lots into pop-up roller rinks. A smooth surface (either indoor or outdoor) is the number one, main requirement.

It can be a wood surface, asphalt or polished concrete, as long as it's smooth. We can help with determining if your proposed location is suitable.

  • Great question!

We offer a number of optional add-ons to customize your package and make it the best event possible:

    • Weather rescheduling insurance
    • Music / DJ
    • Roller skate instructor
    • Photographer
    • If there's anything else you need or want, just let us know. If we can help, we will!
  • A typical day usually consists of 5-hours of skating.

We break this up into 5 x 45min sessions.

Each session has a capacity between 20-40 skaters, depending on the event space, sizing and availability.

To maintain a safe skating environment for new skaters, we try to keep the capacity at around 30 skaters per session. This ensures adequate sizing and protective gear is available for all.

  • Yes, advance booking is required. We only take one event booking per day. To avoid disappointment we always suggest submitting an event enquiry at your earliest convenience.
